Capture de particules solides par une surface en microcanal
Published on - 24ème Congrès Français de Mécanique (CFM2019)
Concentration measurements of biological or chemical liquid samples is a common process in numerous analysis protocols. Hydrodynamics studies achieve to predict the capture rate of molecules by a reactive surface in a straight channel. However, many applications require to measure concentration of objects whose sizes are way bigger than the molecular size (cells, particles, ...). The behavior of these objects is not described by existing theories which focus on nearly punctual objects, like molecules. In this study, we try to extend molecular theories to the capture of solid particles of non-zero size. A part of our experimental results presents a very good agreement with molecular theories, but the rest of it presents capture rates way inferior to it. On such objects, numerous works proved that the surrounding fluid can exert inertial forces which tend to push particles away from the walls. This is an hypothesis that could explain such reduction of capture performances.
