Optical Mie Scattering by DNA-Assembled Three-Dimensional Gold Nanoparticle Superlattice Crystals

Programmable assemblies of gold nanoparticles engineered with DNA have intriguing optical properties such as Coulomb-interaction-driven strong coupling, polaritonic response in the visible range, and ultralow dispersion dielectric response in the…

A Robust EM Algorithm for Radio Interferometric Imaging in The Presence of Outliers

Image synthesis in the context of radio interferometric data can be expressed as a signal reconstruction from incomplete Fourier measurements. Most imaging techniques for radio interferometry lie in minimizing the least square error between the…

EMI Mitigation of GaN Power Inverter Leg by Local Shielding Techniques

This article presents local shielding techniques applied to a half-bridge inverter leg with the aim to reduce the common-mode (CM) current noise at converter's dc input. The research study is conducted for 650-V enhancement mode Gallium Nitride…

Measurement of magnetic hysteresis loops of the Ni-5at.%W alloy substrate as a function of temperature in a stack of 2G HTS coated conductor annuli

The development of coated conductors with a ferromagnetic substrate and their use in various applications require an accurate knowledge of the magnetic properties of the substrate. In this work, we report measurements in AC regime (30 Hz) of the…

Breast imaging by cascaded CNN from joint microwave and ultrasonic data

In the context of early breast tumor characterization, combining electromagnetic (EM) and ultrasound (US) modalities is of interest, since both non-ionizing and low-cost, and harboring complementary resolution features. Here, a new Convolutional…

Spectroscopy and hydrodynamics of nanoparticles in solution

Functionalized nanoparticles (NPs) receive interest for application in light-energy conversion, imaging and sensing, and photomedecine. Often, the particles are dispersed as individual entities in a liquid, in the ideal case behaving as a colloidal…

From energy behaviours to lifestyles: Contribution of behavioural archetypes to the description of energy consumption patterns in the residential sector

Many studies emphasise that household energy behaviour is a key determinant of domestic energy consumption, but few highlight the fact that it is fundamentally associated with lifestyle and housing context. Existing studies that address this issue…
