The first Marine Clocks of John Harrison : a mechanical study of their drift at sea

Determining longitude at sea was a major problem until the 18th century. One solution was to develop reliable marine clocks, insensitive to the ship motion, allowing its position to be estimated by comparison between local time and time at a…

Matched and Mismatched Estimation of Kronecker Product of Linearly Structured Scatter Matrices Under Elliptical Distributions

The estimation of covariance matrices is a core problem in many modern adaptive signal processing applications. For matrix-and array-valued data, e.g., MIMO communication, EEG/MEG (time versus channel), the covariance matrix of vectorized data may…

Efficient Estimation of Kronecker Product of Linear Structured Scatter Matrices under t-distribution

This paper addresses structured scatter matrix estimation within the non convex set of Kronecker product structure. The latter model usually involves two matrices, which can be themselves linearly constrained, and arises in many applications, such…

Off-Grid Radar Target Detection with the Normalized Matched Filter: A Monopulse-Based Detection Scheme

In this paper, we tackle the problem of off-grid radar target detection based on the Normalized Matched Filter. State-ofthe-art solutions to this problem include the use of the Generalized Likelihood Ratio test (GLRT), whose implementation can be…

Design of three-level flying-capacitor commutation cells with four paralleled 650V/60A GaN HEMTs

This paper presents two improved solutions (Vertical and Horizontal commutation cells) for three-level flying capacitor (FC) topologies with four 650 V/ 60 A (25 mΩ) GS66516T GaN (Gallium Nitride) HEMTs (High Electron Mobility Transistors) in…

Analysis of Multi-temporal Image Series for the Preventive Conservation of Varnished Wooden Surfaces

Preventive conservation is a vital practice in Cultural Heritage that consists in the constant monitoring of the state of conservation of an artwork, with the final goal of minimizing the risk of damages and thus, to reduce the need of restorations…

One step clustering based on a-contrario framework for detection of alterations in historical violins

Preventive conservation is an important practice in Cultural Heritage. The constant monitoring of the state of conservation of an artwork helps us reduce the risk of damage and number of necessary interventions. In this work, we propose a…
