Detection of Early-Stage Corrosion on Coated Structural Steel Using the Hyperspectral Imaging in SWIR Range

Protective coating on steel fails when it ages and under continuous atmospheric influences. When it becomes vulnerable, corrosion begins to form on the coating and even infilters inside corroding the steel underneath the coating. This present study…

Multi-scale growth modeling of C. reinhardtii and N. oculata: from microplates to pilot photobioreactors

Microalgae cultivation for sustainable biotechnology applications requires reliable scale-up from laboratory to industrial photobioreactors. The transition from small-scale optimization to commercial production remains a major bottleneck, as growth…

A mechanistic and flexible modeling framework for microalgal biomass production

Microalgae such as Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and Nannochloropsis oculata are promising micro-organisms for the sustainable production of biofuels, pigments, and proteins. Their ability to convert light and CO₂ into biomass makes them attractive for…

Model reduction in microalgae culture: an application of Tikhonov's theorem

Michaelis–Menten kinetics have long provided a framework for enzymatic reactions, and Monod directly extended this analogy to microbial populations growing under substrate limitation. Multiplicative composition of the Monod model are now widely used…

Off-grid radar detection strategy for the Normalized Matched Filter: achieving the GLRT performance

A general problem in radar is to detect whether the received signal contains a specific signal of interest or not. We focus on one of the most widespread detectors: the Normalized Matched Filter. To be more realistic, we consider the case where the…

Towards integration of hyperspectral data for the preventive conservation of castle-museums

In view of the climatic conditions that influence sudden variations in temperature and humidity, and the complexity of preventive conservation raised by the specific nature of castle-museums on which the hygrothermal stress is thus increased, the…
