Methodology

Robust design optimization taking into account manufacturing uncertainties of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor

In this paper, deterministic and robust design optimizations of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine were performed to increase its mean torque while reducing torque ripple. These optimizations were carried out using a…

Topology Optimization of Flux Switching Machine Rotors

This paper investigates the topology optimization of the rotor of a 3-phase flux switching machine with 12 permanent magnets located within the stator. The objective is to find the steel distribution within the rotor, maximizing the average torque…

Détection de petites cibles par apprentissage profond et critère a contrario

Small target detection is an essential yet challenging task in defense applications, since differentiating low-contrast targets from natural textured and noisy environment remains difficult. To better take into account the contextual information, we…

Data fusion and non-destructive testing of damaged fiber-reinforced laminates

Efficient strategies for non-destructive testing of damaged composite laminates modeled from homogenization of fiber-reinforced polymers could in- volve fused data. Here, those are from electromagnetic and infrared thermographic modalities, for…

On the False Alarm Probability of the Normalized Matched Filter for Off-Grid Target Detection

Off-grid targets are known to induce a mismatch that dramatically impacts the detection probability of the popular Normalized Matched Filter. To overcome this problem, the unknown target parameter is usually estimated through a Maximum Likelihood…
