AC motor impedance predictive modeling methodology taking into account windings variability

This paper presents a unified predictive modeling for common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) impedance estimation of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). This methodology combines 2D Finite Element modeling and generated lumped…

In-situ experimental investigations to study the impact of mechanical compression on the PEMFC - analysis of the global cell performance

An appropriate clamping pressure is required to ensure the gas-tight operation of a PEMFC assembly and to improve the contacts (i.e. mechanical, thermal, electrical) between its components. However, an excessive mechanical load may also worsen the…

Influence of plastic shear strain on the magnetic behaviour of pure iron

The effect of plastic strain on magnetic behaviour was studied earlier by many authors. These studies mainly focused on plastic straining obtained by tensile testing and on magnetic measurement along the tensile axis. We present in this paper some…

Kalman filter for radio astronomy dynamic imaging based on empirical covariances

Traditional Kalman filters are not immediately suitable for the estimation of state parameters with sample covariance matrices as observations. This comes from the fact that the observations must be first expressed as a linear function of sample…

Optimal drive cycle current supply of a wound field automotive electrical machine using surrogate models

Surrogate models have become a widely used solution for reducing computation times along design processes. In this work, a Gaussian Process surrogate model is built and used to predict the performance and losses of a wound field electrical machine…

Brightness and contrast corrections for stereocorrelation: Global and instantaneous formulation with spatial regularization

Stereocorrelation (SC) is a versatile experimental method increasingly used to measure 3D surface displacements in complex mechanical tests. However, convergence issues may arise when gray-level conservation is no longer validated, particularly when…
