Data-Driven Optimisation Method for Tuning the HF Injection Parameters of an Extra Low Voltage Encoderless Synchronous Motor Drive

This paper discusses encoderless control of a permanent magnet synchronous machine that is fed by an extra-low DC bus voltage and operates within the low-speed range. The focus is on optimising the parameters of the high-frequency (HF) voltage…

Quenching statistics in Si and Ge SPADs using particle Monte Carlo simulation

Si-and Ge-based single-photon-avalanche-diodes (SPAD) are investigated by using self-consistent 3D Monte Carlo simulation, in a mixed-mode approach including the presence of a passive quenching circuit. This approach of transport allows us to…

Laser-induced random modulation of the antiferromagnetic/ferromagnetic phase transition in FeRh films

Recently, the magnetocaloric ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic phase transition of FeRh, and its thermal hysteresis have been studied under fast laser-induced temperature pulses (i.e. with temperature sweep rates up to 107 Ks-1 ) [1] using a modulated…

Peer-to-Peer Market and DSO Coordination Simulation on GPU

The energy transition requires increasing renewable energy production and consumer flexibility. These changes will likely take place in the distribution grid. In addition, consumer flexibility should be managed in a decentralized way to respect…

Optimal Double-Layer Smart EV Charging Using a Portable Multi-Connector System

The reluctance of clients to actively engage in electric vehicle (EV) charging, combined with the scarcity of charging stations (EVCS), creates accessibility challenges and inefficiencies that hinder EV adoption. Existing planning approaches rely on…
