A wide variety of actual processing (Radar, Sonar, Telecoms ...) requires a detection step, who main effect is to restrict the set of observations available for unknown parameter estimation. Therefore, we address the derivation of Mean Square Error (MSE) lower bounds for determinii parameters conditioned by a binary hypothesis testing problem using a didactic approach of wi scope. To prove mat it is meaningful, we also show, with the help of a fundamental applicatior the problem of lower bound tightness at low SNR may arise from an incorrect lower bound formulation that does not take into account the true nature of the problem under investigation: joint detection-estimation problem.
